Daily Dose- The Ten on Tuesday
1) Did Jesus Christ ever laugh? Did he have a sense of humor? I would have to think he did. All people have some sense of humor.
2) What is your view on what happens to us after we die? Do we go to heaven or hell? Are we reincarnated? I'm not quite sure what my view on this is. I'm still figuring it all out.
3) Do you beileve that there is life on other planets outside our solar system? Yes. There's no way that in vastness of the universe there isn't some other form of life out there.
4) What is your view on reparations to the descendants of slaves in America? How much should each descendant get? I don't know to be honest. I think that what happened with the slaves is a horrible wrong. But when you're talking about descendants getting money where does the line get drawn? How many generations are going to get reparations? I really don't know much about the issue to draw a conclusion on it.
5) What is your view on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict? Who is right in this matter and who is wrong? My view is that there needs to be a way for both to co-exist peacefully. In some ways it's almost as if the religious sites need to be made part of international lands (like international waters) or something so that there is no more fighting over who it belongs to. It seems like it could be the only way to solve the issue. This conflict is just one example that makes me dislike religion. Just one more excuse for people to fight and kill each other. It's just stupid. So many useless deaths. I know the people who died don't necessarily see it that way but if you break it down that's just what it is.
6) Do you think that women who stay at home to raise their children hurts the cause of women's rights, or is it better for raising happier, healthier children? In some sense I think it does hurt women in the work place because many employers seem to think that women are a little less reliable as potential employees because they could get pregnant at any time and also decide to leave to raise the kid. It's a stupid perception of course, but it's out there. But staying home to raise kids is a very personal decision. I don't think I could do it, at least not for a long period of time, or without working from home.
7) Should we continue the space program and create new technologies for humanity, or do you feel we should wait until we soulve all of humanity's problems before we go into space? I think there are enough scientists to be able to handle both. I also think that since the scientists who deal with each of these have rather specific backgrounds that it would be hard for those working on space program things to deal with the science for say curing cancer. Besides, many times while working on new technologies for one thing, scientists discover something that is applicable to something else.
8) Is there any crime great enough for the death penalty? Yes. For example, the father and son snipers that killed a bunch of innocent people. There's no need for them to be put in prision for the rest of their lives to live out a better life than homeless people and for the tax payers to foot the bill.
9) When does life begin? Does it begin at conception? Does it begin at a certain point between conception and birth? I'm not exactly sure but I am pro-choice. A woman be able to decide what to do with her body. Legalizing abortions isn't going to necessarily increase the number of occurances but will make them safer. Isn't just as unfair to bring a child into a bad situation as it is to end a pregnancy?
10) Should assisted suicides be made legal for terminally ill patients? Why or why not? Yes. If you are terminally ill you should have the right to choose.
